(Chicago)  Filling a void that has existed for the past three years, Dolphin Promotions has announced that it will launch a high-end antiques show in downtown Chicago in Spring 2017.  The Chicago Antiques + Art + Design Show will feature 100 premier international exhibitors presenting fine antique furniture, decorative and fine arts in gallery settings at the Chicago Merchandise Mart’s seventh floor exhibition space on May 18-21.

Opening with an early-buying preview gala benefiting a major local charity on Thursday evening, May 18, and continuing through the weekend of May 19-21 and open to the general public, the new event is expected to attract major dealers, designers, curators and collectors from across the country.  Among the impressive list of venerable dealers participating are American Garage of Los Angeles; Antique American Wicker of Nashua, NH; David Brooker Fine Art of Woodbury, CT; Philip Chasen Antiques of East Norwich, NY; William Cook Fine Antique Furniture of Berkshire, England; Earle Vandekar of Knightsbridge of Maryknoll, NY; Greenwald Antiques of Woodmere Village, OH; Imperial Fine Books of New York, NY; Nally Jewels of New York, NY; Ophir Gallery of Englewood, NJ; Charles Edwin Puckett of Akron, OH;  Really Good of Panama City, Panama; Rehs Gallery of New York, NY; Solomon Suchard of Shaker Heights, OH; Jayne Thompson Antiques of Harrodsburg, NY; and Turkey Mountain Traders of Evergreen, OH; among many others soon to be announced.

Both dealers and collectors have expressed great enthusiasm for the new show since there has been none held in downtown Chicago for several years since the Merchandise Mart ended its long-standing International Antiques Show and another show held at Navy Pier was unsuccessful.  Rosemary Krieger, President of Dolphin Promotions, observed “Chicago is one of the greatest cities in the world, and we are so excited to be bringing a prestigious antiques show back to downtown — the city deserves it!”  Dolphin Promotions presently organizes other shows in Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Palm Springs, San Mateo (CA) and Sarasota.
